A pomegranat
e weighing 1.85 kg set a Guinness World Records™ record for heaviest pomegranate in the world. The pomegranate was grown in Aiguo village, Huili county, Sichuan province, China
, and was verified at the Pomegranate Competition organised by the People's Government of Huili County on 4 September 2009.

Huili county is famous for its pomegranat
e in China. And at the Pomegranate Competition of the county on 4 September 2009, about 30 pomegranate were chosen to compete for the “King, Queen, Prince and Princess” of pomegranate. And finally four pomegranates won the prize, with the “Pomegranate King” broke the previous record of 1.04 kg. The record winning pomegranate was 48.7 cm in circumference. It is almost three times as much as a normal sized pomegranate.
