On 12 September 2009, and getting ready for this year’s Halloween season, Guinness World Records™ Adjudicato r, Carlos Martinez, visited the longest walk-throu gh horror house: The Cutting Edge Haunted House in Fort Worth, Texas, USA.
This abandoned meatpackin g warehouse, built in the late 1920's, measures a total length of 689.17 m (2,261.08 ft) from stepping into the house, to the end of the horrifying walk. It is a walk that averages 55 minutes for the visitors to complete, full of scary haunted house props, spooky ghosts, frightenin g haunted decoration s, strobe lights, fog and monsters along the way.
After taking all measuremen ts and surviving to the adventure of walking through the entire house, the Guinness World Records Adjudicato r announced, exactly at midnight, that a new world record had been set.
Todd James, the owner of this haunted house, received the Guinness World Records certificat e and chainsaws cut the ribbons that started the zombie celebratio n party in the house’s cemetery.
The celebratio ns lasted, of course, till dawn.
