Can we eat Mentos and drink diet coke after that??

Can we eat Mentos and drink diet coke after that??
A rumor has been circulating the Internet that a boy has died in Brazil
from eating Mentos and drinking Coca-Cola light

When mentos is added in diet coke. it make a lot of, lot of GAS. and in this experiment ,
these unique scientists , proves that eating mentos over diet coke , or drinking diet coke over mentos can be very very dangerous.
they practically perform this experiment and show us how much gas is produced by mixing these two products together.

Here is the response from the world famous Coca Cola Company

Response of Coca Cola company over this video.

Rumor: Child dies after drinking Coca-Cola light
followed by chewing menthol-flavored chewy candy

A rumor has been circulating the Internet that a boy has died in Brazil from eating Mentos and drinking Coca-Cola light. This is a hoax, most likely triggered by the well-known "Diet Coke/Mentos fountain phenomenon."

Our Response: There is a false rumor circulating via email on the Internet that claims that a child in Brazil died after drinking Coca-Cola light followed by chewing menthol-flavored chewy candy. This story is not true.

There is no reason to believe that Coca-Cola ingredients together with menthol flavor or any other food or food ingredient would combine to cause any illness. Coca-Cola ingredients and menthol flavoring are widely approved as safe food ingredients and are used worldwide in a variety of foods.

This email appears to be linked to a number of amateur videos that have appeared on the Internet, which show people, for fun, mixing Mentos candies with Coca-Cola light (or Diet Coke®) to produce a reaction that causes the Diet Coke to shoot into the air. This reaction is thought to be caused by carbon dioxide (which gives carbonated soft drinks their fizz) permeating the porous surface of the Mentos.

However, chewing a Mentos candy destroys the surface needed for the carbon dioxide bubbles to form. Therefore such a foam reaction cannot happen when the two products are ingested.

We strongly advise consumers to treat with skepticism unauthorized or untraceable rumors which they find on the Internet, since they often, as in this case, turn out to be entirely false.
Q. Why does Diet Coke or Coke Zero when combined with Mentos produce a reaction that causes Diet Coke to shoot into the air or causes a rocket car to propel with Coke Zero?

A. Some scientists have said that it has to do with the rapid release of carbon dioxide (what gives soft drinks their "fizz") caused by the candy. As soon as Mentos is dropped into the beverage, carbon dioxide bubbles rapidly form all over the surface of the candy. As Mentos sinks to the bottom of the bottle, additional bubbles are formed and the pressure inside the bottle increases very rapidly. The sudden increase in pressure pushes all of the liquid up and out of the bottle. The same reaction occurs in the case of the rocket car propelled with the Coke Zero/Mentos combination where the carbon dioxide pressure drives the reaction.
Q. Can this same reaction occur if I eat Mentos and drink Diet Coke or Coke Zero at the same time?

A. No. Chewing the candy destroys its surface which is needed for the carbon dioxide bubbles to form.
Q. Will anything happen if I just swallow Mentos and then consume Diet Coke or Coke Zero?
A. No. The level of carbon dioxide and pressure generated in a 2 liter bottle of beverage is far greater than what can be produced in the stomach.

Additional Information
In June 2006, a video clip produced by Fritz Grobe and Stephen Voltz began circulating on the internet that showcased an elaborate demonstration of the reaction that occurs when Mentos brand candies are dropped into bottles of Diet Coke. The video, created through an acting troupe called EepyBird, created an immediate online sensation and has since been viewed millions of times. There was no Company involvement in that video.

MICROWAVE TEST - An Eye Opener

Microwave test - an eye opener
Very interesting!!!! Is it time to act???????
Below is a Science fair project presented by a girl in a secondary school.
In it she took filtered water and divided it into two parts.
The first part she heated to boiling in a pan on the stove, and the second part she heated to boiling in a microwave.

Then after cooling she used the water to water two identical plants to see if there would be any difference in the growth between the normal boiled water and the water boiled in a microwave.

She was thinking that the structure or energy of the water may be compromised by microwave.

As it turned out, even she was amazed at the difference, after the experiment which was repeated by her class mates a number of times and had the same result.

It has been known for some years that the problem with microwaved anything is not the radiation people used to worry about, it's how it corrupts the DNA in the food so the body can not recognize it.

Microwaves don't work different ways on different substances. Whatever you put into the microwave suffers the same destructive process. Microwaves agitate the molecules to move faster and faster. This movement causes friction which denatures the original make-up of the substance. It results in destroyed vitamins, minerals, proteins and generates the new stuff called radiolytic compounds, things that are not found in nature.

So the body wraps it in fat cells to protect itself from the dead food or it eliminates it fast. Think of all the Mothers heating up milk in these 'Safe' appliances. What about the nurse in Canada that warmed up blood for a transfusion patient and accidentally killed him when the blood went in dead. But the makers say it's safe. But proof is in the pictures of living plants dying!!!

Ten Reasons to dispose off your Microwave Oven

From the conclusions of the Swiss, Russian and German scientific clinical studies, we can no longer ignore the microwave oven sitting in our kitchens. Based on this research, one can conclude this article with the following:
1). Continually eating food processed from a microwave oven causes long term - permanent - brain damage by 'shorting out' electrical impulses in the brain [de-polarizing or de-magnetizing the brain tissue].

2). The human body cannot metabolize [break down] the unknown by-products created in microwaved food.

3). Male and female hormone production is shut down and/or altered by continually eating microwaved foods.

4). The effects of microwaved food by-products are residual [long term, permanent] within the human body.

5). Minerals, vitamins, and nutrients of all microwaved food is reduced or altered so that the human body gets little or no benefit, or the human body absorbs altered compounds that cannot be broken down.

6). The minerals in vegetables are altered into cancerous free radicals when cooked in microwave ovens.

7). Microwaved foods cause stomach and intestinal cancerous growths [tumours]. This may explain the rapidly increased rate of colon cancer in UK and America .

8). The prolonged eating of microwaved foods causes cancerous cells to increase in human blood.

9). Continual ingestion of microwaved food causes immune system deficiencies through lymph gland and blood serum alterations.

10). Eating microwaved food causes loss of memory, concentration, emotional instability, and a decrease of intelligence.

Gall Bladder stones- Removal naturally

 Note from Admin Nidokidos  :-

TODAY'S SPECIAL 4 U !
Dear All, This is a useful piece of information that you may have received before. This is true and it works. You can 'google' Dr Lai Chiu-Nan to find out more about her and the feedbacks of this treatment.
Pictures first, explanation and procedure follows:

1. Liver
2. Common Bile Duct
3. Gallstones
4. Gallbladder

REMOVING GALLSTONES NATURALLY
by Dr Lai Chiu-Nan

It has worked for many. If it works for you please pass on the good news. Chiu Nan is not charging for it, so we should make it free for everyone. Your reward is when someone, through your word of mouth, benefits from the regime. Gallstones may not be everyone's concern. But they should be because we all have them. Moreover, gallstones may lead to cancer. 'Cancer is never the first illness,' Chiu Nan points out. 'Usually, there are a lot of other problems leading to cancer.

In my research in China, I came across some materials which say that people with cancer usually have stones. We all have gallstones. It's a matter of big or small, many or few.

One of the symptoms of gallstones is a feeling of bloatedness after a heavy meal. You feel like you can't digest the food. If it gets more serious, you feel pain in the liver area.' So if you think you have gallstones, Chiu Nan offers the following method to remove them naturally.

The treatment is also good for those with a weak liver, because the liver and gallbladder are closely linked.

Regimen:
1. For the first five days, take four glasses of apple juice every day . Or eat four or five apples, whichever you prefer. Apple juice softens the gallstones. During the five days, eat normally.
2. On the sixth day, take no dinner.
3. At 6 PM, take a teaspoon of Epsom salt (magnesium sulphate) with a glass of warm water.
4. At 8 PM, repeat the same. Magnesium sulphate opens the gallbladder ducts.
5. At 10 PM, take half cup olive oil (or sesame oil) with half cup fresh lemon juice. Mix it well and drink it. The oil lubricates the stones to ease their passage.
PS. 1cup=250ml, 1/2 cup lemon juice=3 lemons (aprox.)

The next morning, you will find green stones in your stools. 'Usually they float,' Chiu Nan notes. 'You might want to count them. I have had people who passes 40, 50 or up to 100 stones. Very many.'

'Even if you don't have any symptoms of gallstones, you still might have some. It's always good to give your gall bladder a clean-up now and then.

Girl Grows New Kidneys

A girl has stunned doctors by growing two new kidneys to replace ones that had failed and left her seriously ill.

Five-year-old Angel Burton went for surgery after being beset by kidney problems since birth.

But surgeons at Sheffield Children's Hospital were astonished to find she had a pair of perfectly-formed organs sitting on top of the old ones.

Furthermore, the extra organs had taken over the work of the originals - so instead of suffering kidney failure, she could look forward to a bright, healthy future.

Angel's mum, Claire Burton, told the Daily Mail: "It's a real miracle. We're just so grateful to have Angel back to her happy, healthy self."

She said the surgeon told her he was "stunned" regular scanning over a five-year period had failed to pick up on the extra organs.

It is thought they were not detected as the new kidneys were sitting just above the originals and tests showed them as one.

Surgeons cut open girl, to fix failing kidneys only to find two new ones growing in their place

Angel, from Louth in Lincolnshire, suffers from duplex kidney, a rare condition where the organs are fused together in the middle. They either share or have their own ureters taking urine to the bladder.

In an even rarer occurrence, both of the organs were duplex, giving her four kidneys and four ureters.

Angel's health deteriorated almost as soon as she was born.

After being diagnosed with bilateral reflux - which means urine was leaking into and infecting her kidneys - a scan had revealed the organs had been badly damaged.

It was during an operation to create an artificial valve in October 2007 that doctors found the extra kidneys.

Angel is now eight and on course to make a full recovery.

Ignorant West

Overview
The United States has the highest teen pregnancy rate in the industrialized world. The Center for Disease control says that one-third of girls get pregnant before the age of 20. Teenpregnancy.org, a site managed by the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, states that there are "750,000 teen pregnancies annually. Eight in ten of these pregnancies are unintended and 81 percent are to unmarried teens."
Educating teenagers about contraception makes them more likely to use contraception when they begin having sex, but it doesn't lower the age at first intercourse. Why? Probably because the decision where and with whom to become sexually active is a very complicated one, and may be rooted in family, peers, religion, the media and individual personality factors.

Facts on Teen Pregnancy:
• Teenage mothers are more likely to drop out of high school
• Be and remain single parents
• Score lower in math and reading into adolescence

Prevention
If you are a teen thinking about having sex, the best way to prevent an unwanted pregnancy is to educate yourself about different forms of contraceptive. The Public Health Agency of Canada states that 25 percent of young women who have intercourse without using a method of birth control will become pregnant within one month.

If you are a parent, it is important to talk to your teen about sex .

Treatment
If you or your teen becomes pregnant there are several resources that can help. Make sure you see your physician if you have any questions about pregnancy or contraceptives.

Effects Of Cold Water On Human Body

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks - You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive.

Magnets used to clean up bloodstream

Sepsis, a potentially lethal disease caused by a systemic microbial infection that spreads via the bloodstream, is responsible for more than 200,000 deaths per year in the U.S. alone. Existing treatments can be ineffective but researchers in the Vascular Biology Program at Children's Hospital Boston have come up with a novel first line of defense - the use of magnetism to quickly remove pathogens from the blood. The new blood-cleansing device, developed by Chong Wing Yung and Don Ingber is described in the journal Lab on a Chip.

The system works by drawing the patient's blood and adding tiny magnetic beads (coated with antibodies) to it. The blood and bead mix is then run through a microfluidic system in which two liquid flow streams run side by side without mixing - one containing blood, the other a saline-based collection fluid. The beads bind to the pathogens and a magnet then pulls them (along with the pathogens) into the collection fluid, which is ultimately discarded, while the cleansed blood in reintroduced into the patient.

Tested with contaminated human blood, a device with four parallel collection modules achieved an impressive 80 percent clearance of the fungi Candida albicans in a single pass, at a flow rate and separation efficiency that would be viable for clinical applications. The researchers estimate that a scaled-up system with hundreds of channels could cleanse the blood of an infant within several hours.

"This blood-cleansing microdevice offers a potentially new weapon to fight pathogens in septic infants and adults, that works simply by removing the source of the infection and thereby enhancing the patient's response to existing antibiotics," noted Ingber, who says the next phase will be to test the device in animals

The 6 Basic Nutrients Groups

The 6 groups contain everything the body needs to survive and perform its daily activities. When we maintain a proper balance of these nutrients, we have everything we need for optimal health. While the exact balance varies from person to person, we'll share the generally accepted guidelines that can help us make the right choices. Here are the 6 basic nutrients groups:

Basic Nutrients Groups For Energy:

Carbohydrates:

These nutrients provide sugars to your system for quick energy. 40-50% of our daily food energy intake (in calories) should be carbohydrates, but not just any carbohydrates. Many processed foods (candy, ice cream, soda, fruit juice, honey, etc.) have very high amounts of refined carbohydrates that flood your body too quickly with energy. Over time, this can cause very serious health problems. Make sure to get most of your carbohydrates from unprocessed foods (whole grains, beans, peas, brown rice, fresh fruits and vegetables).

Proteins:

These are sometimes called the building blocks of life because, in addition to providing slow, sustained energy, proteins provide necessary amino acids that help regulate body function and structure. This is why some body-builders and athletes add protein supplements to their diets. Go to our page, Proteins-Amino Acids to get more information on specific proteins. 20-30% of our daily food energy intake should be from proteins. While all meats and dairy foods are high in proteins, the best protein foods are low in cholesterol and saturated fats (ocean fish, salmon is best, tofu, beans, black-eyed peas).

Fats:

Fats may be the least understood of the nutrient groups. We can't live without them but we think they harm us. Actually, only certain fats (cholesterol, saturated fats) are harmful when eaten in excess. This is why we should limit our beef, pork, lamb, veal, butter, coconut and dairy products. Monounsaturated fats (from nuts, seeds, olives) and Polyunsaturated fats (from sunflower, corn, fish and shellfish) are fats that are good for us. Omega 3 fats (cold water ocean fish, salmon) actually have been shown to reduce cholesterol. Our fat intake should be about 20-30% of our diet.

Basic Nutrients Groups For Metabolism:

Vitamins:

These nutrients have been proven over time to be necessary for health and fitness, but are in short supply in most modern diets. It only takes a tiny amount of these nutrients, but, if missing from the diet, they can cause giant health problems with names like scurvy, night blindness, anemia, etc. Many vitamin supplements are available at varying strengths and qualities. Be careful, because too much of some vitamins can be as harmful as too little. You can get recommended amounts, natural sources and benefits of specific vitamins from our page, Vitamin Benefits List.

Minerals:

Like Vitamins, it only takes a tiny amount of each mineral to avoid serious health problems (like anemia, bone disease, depression, etc), but with more processed and prepared foods in our diets, less minerals are available. Also, like vitamins, too much of a specific mineral can cause serious health problems. See our page Nutritional Supplements for guidelines on how to choose mineral supplements. Also see Minerals Good For The Body for our recommended amounts, natural sources and benefits of specific minerals.

Water:

Yes, water is a nutrient...the forgotten nutrient. Many people chase after the latest, most exotic nutrient when all they really need is to drink enough pure water. Nothing else works like water to clean your system, control your weight, digestion, energy, alertness. Nothing on this page can work if you're not getting enough pure water. For most adults, 1/2 to 3/4 gallon of water daily is right...don't go much over that. Like all other nutrients, too much water can cause serious health problems. See our page Drinking Water-Advantages for information on water advantages, disadvantages, purity, etc.

Nutrients For Life:

People looking for nutrient information usually want to avoid health problems, get the most out of life and the most life they can. Not just physical existence, but mental and spiritual. If you're looking for more than body or looks in your health and fitness goals, you can find it spiritually through God. He can heal the stuff your diet doesn't control and bring real health and fitness to your life. If you want His help, go to Healing From God.

Getting Little Sleep May Be Associated With Risk Of Heart Disease

Sleeping less than seven and a half hours per day may be associated with future risk of heart disease, according to a new article. In addition, a combination of little sleep and overnight elevated blood pressure appears to be associated with an increased risk of the disease

"Reflecting changing lifestyles, people are sleeping less in modern societies," according to background information in the article. Getting adequate sleep is essential to preventing health conditions such as obesity and diabetes as well as several risk factors for cardiovascular disease including sleep-disordered breathing and night-time hypertension (high blood pressure).

Kazuo Eguchi, M.D., Ph.D., at Jichi Medical University, Tochigi, Japan, and colleagues monitored the sleep of 1,255 individuals with hypertension (average age 70.4) and followed them for an average of 50 months. Researchers noted patients' sleep duration, daytime and nighttime blood pressure and cardiovascular disease events such as stroke, heart attack and sudden cardiac death.

During follow-up, 99 cardiovascular disease events occurred. Sleep duration of less than 7.5 hours was associated with incident cardiovascular disease. "The incidence of cardiovascular disease was 2.4 per 100 person-years in subjects with less than 7.5 hours of sleep and 1.8 per 100 person-years in subjects with longer sleep duration," the authors write.

Patients with shorter sleep duration plus an overnight increase in blood pressure had a higher incidence of heart disease than those with normal sleep duration plus no overnight increase in blood pressure, but the occurrence of cardiovascular disease in those with a longer sleep duration vs. those with a shorter sleep duration was similar in those who did not experience an overnight elevation in blood pressure.

"In conclusion, shorter duration of sleep is a predictor of incident cardiovascular disease in elderly individuals with hypertension," particularly when it occurs with elevated nighttime blood pressure, the authors note. "Physicians should inquire about sleep duration in the risk assessment of patients with hypertension."

12 ) During SLEEP move 25.4 times

When was the last time you took a moment and celebrated your body? Not because it's well built or attractive by society's standards-- but because it's an impressive piece of functional art. We've assembled some interesting facts that will help you appreciate your body and keep you motivated to take care of it.

Boost your burning power. Did you know that for every 1 lb of muscle you gain, your body burns an extra 50 calories a day? If you can turn at least 5 lbs of extra "fat" into muscle, you will automatically burn an additional 250 calories per day.

A mini-Charles Atlas. Muscles are comprised of muscle fibers. Each fiber is thinner than a human hair and can support up to 1,000 times its own weight.

Use it or lose it. By age 65, people who haven't engaged in regular exercise may incur a decrease in their muscular strength level by as much as 80%.

Make your move. A muscle moves by contracting and by its motion, you move. As a machine for moving, a muscle is pretty efficient, using about 35-50% of its potential energy.

More than a few. The human body has more than 650 muscles.

Unique in its own way. No two muscles in the body have exactly the same function. When one muscle is paralyzed, either stability of the body part is impaired or some specific movement is lost.

Watch your step. Forward locomotion such as walking or running is actually the process of losing and catching one's balance.

The cellulite myth. There is no such thing as cellulite. The skin sometimes appears lumpy in fatty areas of the body because strands of connective tissue attach the skin to underlying structures. These points of attachment may pull tight where the fat is thick, making lumps appear between them. The fat itself is not different from excess fat anywhere else in the body. So, if you reduce body fat, you will begin to lose the lumpy appearance.

Spot reducing de-bunked. Spot reducing will not reduce the fat itself in a specific area of the body. Strength training specific areas of the body will strengthen the underlying muscle, but fat reduction is only accomplished by burning more calories than you take in.

The cardiovascular chain. Your body has approximately 60,000 miles of blood vessels that not only oxygenate the tissues of the body and unburden them of wastes, but also act as stringent regulators of the body's environment.

Stressful miles. If you are 25 lbs overweight, you have nearly 5,000 extra miles of blood vessels through which your heart must pump blood.

Taking a break. Your heart rests between beats. Over a normal lifespan, your heart stands still for about 20 years.

Now that's pressure. Your blood rushes through your arteries with enough pressure to lift a column of blood five feet into the air.

Safety valves. When you stand up, if you didn't have valves in your veins, all the blood in your body would literally fall downward, filling up your feet and leg

FACTS ABOUT BRAIN:

Babies' eyes do not produce tears until the baby is approximately six to eight weeks old.

The reason why your nose gets runny when you are crying is because the tears from the eyes drain into the nose.

The most common injury caused by cosmetics is to the eye by a mascara wand.

Some people start to sneeze if they are exposed to sunlight or have a light shined into their eye.

The highest recorded speed of a sneeze is 165 km per hour.

It is impossible to sneeze with your eyes open.

The space between your eyebrows is called the Glabella.

Inside our eye, at the back, is a part called the "retina." On the retina are cells called "rods" and "cones." These rods and cones help us to see colors and light.

Just behind the pupil is a lens. It is round and flat. It is thicker toward the middle.

Over the front of our eye is a clear covering called the "conjunctiva."

The white part of our eye is called the "sclera." At the front, the sclera becomes clear and is called the "cornea

Around the pupil is a colored muscle called the "iris." Our eyes may be BLUE, BROWN, GREEN, GRAY OR BLACK, because that is the color of the iris.

Our eyes have many parts. The black part on the front of our eye is called the "pupil." It is really a little hole that opens into the back part of our eyes.

Your eyes blinks over 10,000,000 times a year!

The Miracle of Green Tea

Is any other food or drink reported to have as many health benefits as green tea? The Chinese have known about the medicinal benefits of green tea since ancient times, using it to treat everything from headaches to depression. In her book Green Tea: The Natural Secret for a Healthier Life, Nadine Taylor states that green tea has been used as a medicine in China for at least 4,000 years.

Today, scientific research in both Asia and the west is providing hard evidence for the health benefits long associated with drinking green tea. For example, in 1994 the Journal of the National Cancer Institute published the results of an epidemiological study indicating that drinking green tea reduced the risk of esophageal cancer in Chinese men and women by nearly sixty percent. University of Purdue researchers recently concluded that a compound in green tea inhibits the growth of cancer cells. There is also research indicating that drinking green tea lowers total cholesterol levels, as well as improving the ratio of good (HDL) cholesterol to bad (LDL) cholesterol.

To sum up, here are just a few medical conditions in which drinking green tea is reputed to be helpful:

* Cancer
* Rheumatoid arthritis
* High cholesterol levels
* Cariovascular disease
* Infection
* Impaired immune function

What makes green tea so special?

The secret of green tea lies in the fact it is rich in catechin polyphenols, particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG is a powerful anti-oxidant: besides inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, it kills cancer cells without harming healthy tissue. It has also been effective in lowering LDL cholesterol levels, and inhibiting the abnormal formation of blood clots. The latter takes on added importance when you consider that thrombosis (the formation of abnormal blood clots) is the leading cause of heart attacks and stroke.

Links are being made between the effects of drinking green tea and the "French Paradox." For years, researchers were puzzled by the fact that, despite consuming a diet rich in fat, the French have a lower incidence of heart disease than Americans. The answer was found to lie in red wine, which contains resveratrol, a polyphenol that limits the negative effects of smoking and a fatty diet. In a 1997 study, researchers from the University of Kansas determined that EGCG is twice as powerful as resveratrol, which may explain why the rate of heart disease among Japanese men is quite low, even though approximately seventy-five percent are smokers.

Why don't other Chinese teas have similar health-giving properties? Green, oolong, and black teas all come from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. What sets green tea apart is the way it is processed. Green tea leaves are steamed, which prevents the EGCG compound from being oxidized. By contrast, black and oolong tea leaves are made from fermented leaves, which results in the EGCG being converted into other compounds that are not nearly as effective in preventing and fighting various diseases.

Other Benefits

New evidence is emerging that green tea can even help dieters. In November, 1999, the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition published the results of a study at the University of Geneva in Switzerland. Researchers found that men who were given a combination of caffeine and green tea extract burned more calories than those given only caffeine or a placebo.

Green tea can even help prevent tooth decay! Just as its bacteria-destroying abilities can help prevent food poisoning, it can also kill the bacteria that causes dental plaque. Meanwhile, skin preparations containing green tea - from deodorants to creams - are starting to appear on the market.

Harmful Effects?

To date, the only negative side effect reported from drinking green tea is insomnia due to the fact that it contains caffeine. However, green tea contains less caffeine than coffee: there are approximately thirty to sixty mg. of caffeine in six - eight ounces of tea, compared to over one-hundred mg. in eight ounces of coffee.

Burning Fat with Foods

Grapefruit

I'm not sure if it has magical fat-burning properties, but research suggests that this sweet 'n' sour citrus fruit can aid in weight loss. One Scripps Clinic study found that eating half of a grapefruit or drinking four ounces of grapefruit juice with meals (without making any other changes in eating habits) resulted in an average weight loss of more than three pounds in 12 weeks. Scientists speculate the weight loss happens because grapefruit lowers insulin levels, which curbs your urge to snack. And, of course, the less you snack, the easier it is to lose weight.

Tip: If grapefruit is a little too tart for you, try sprinkling some Splenda on top.

Green Tea

Green tea is one ambitious beverage. Not only does it help prevent cancer and heart disease, but numerous research studies have also found that drinking green tea, or taking green tea supplements, can also rev up your metabolism. Just how big of a difference can this fat-burning brew make? Some researchers claim if you drink five cups of green tea a day, you'll burn 70 to 80 extra calories. That's not bad, and definitely worth a shot!

Spicy Foods

Like it hot? Good news: Eating spicy foods can help you burn more fat. Hot foods make you sweat and raise your heart rate, which temporarily increases your metabolism. So grab some cayenne, your favorite bottle of hot sauce, hot chilies or red pepper flakes, and give your food ‑- and your metabolism ‑- a kick.

Low-Fat/Nonfat Dairy

In addition to building strong bones, calcium also inhibits the production of calcitriol, a hormone that tells cells to generate more fat. Woohoo! Several studies have concluded that incorporating low-fat or nonfat dairy products into your diet can help you lose more weight. My favorite forms of low-fat dairy are Dannon Light 'n' Fit Smoothies, Yoplait Light Yogurt and Dreyer's Grand Light Ice Cream.

Water

Skimp on water, and it'll be harder to lose weight. Dehydration slows down your metabolism, and it can also lead to sugar cravings and fatigue (which might make you less likely to exercise). Yikes! Some experts recommend guzzling eight cups of H2O a day. I have at least 10 to 12 glasses daily.

Cinnamon

Research shows that a quarter teaspoon of cinnamon, eaten with food, helps metabolize sugars more effectively and lower the body's blood sugar levels. This is helpful because high blood sugar levels and excess sugar in the blood can lead to fat storage. Cinnamon also brings out natural sweetness in food and, well, tastes good. So sprinkle away! My favorite way to use the stuff? Mixed with Splenda and some fat-free cottage cheese or on baked apples. Mmm!

HG Protein Tip..!

Protein is essential for building muscle. And the more muscle you have, the more fat you burn ‑- even when you're at rest. Protein also has the highest thermic effect of all the macronutrients (protein, carbs and fat). So, you burn more calories digesting protein than you do digesting carbs or fats. Your best protein-packed bets are turkey, egg whites, fish, tuna and skinless, boneless chicken breasts

The Importance of Drinking Water

The Importance of Drinking Water

Multiple Health Benefits of Water

The body's need for water is second in importance only to the need for oxygen. In fact, humans survive longer without food than water.

There are six nutrients or substances essential for life: carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals and water. While we are aware of the importance of including the first five in the diet, the health benefits of water are often overlooked, as we do not realize that the body needs water more than it does any other nutrient. Water has preventive and curative properties, and is important for every bodily process.
Importance of Water for Digestion, Circulation and Mental Health

Water transports oxygen and nutrients to all the cells of the body, and helps in the absorption and utilization of vitamins and minerals. Most digestive enzymes require certain levels of water to enable digestion. Sufficient water intake also prevents dyspepsia, which is a symptom of underlying stomach problems. Finally, sipping hot water decreases acid secretions in the stomach and relieves hyper-acidity, heartburn, flatulence and acute indigestion.

Water is also responsible for chemical reactions in the body, regulation of blood pressure, maintaining normal body temperature, proper circulation and healthy blood vessels. It dilutes and helps to maintain the normal volume and consistency of fluids like blood and lymph. Moreover, water is essential for regulating the normal structure and functions of the skin. Finally, it maintains the moisture in the linings of the internal organs of the body.

Most of the brain consists of water, so consumption of water reduces headaches and improves concentration. Inadequate water in the brain can even cause depression and hypertension. Water keeps the body fresh, hydrated and alert, and boosts metabolism. It also prevents eye related problems.

Water as a Cleansing Agent

Water helps to flush out toxins and waste products through the skin and kidneys. It prevents and alleviates constipation, and starts peristalsis, or the movement of the intestines. Moreover, water reduces bladder problems, and prevents and eliminates kidney stones.

Drinking water helps to combat fever by flushing out germs. It is essential for strengthening the defense mechanism of the body, and preventing infections.

Inadequate water content in the body hampers the proper cleaning of bacteria and causes dryness of the tongue and bad breath; thus, water is required for oral hygiene.

Water Aids Mobility, Energy and Weight Loss

The health of our joints is also dependent on the amount of water in the cartilages. Water helps in lubrication and allows joints to glide smoothly over each other.

Water helps to convert food into energy, so drinking an adequate amount of water in the morning provides energy for the rest of the day. It enables the storage of glycogen, which is an essential source of energy in our muscles.

Water has zero calories, and helps in weight loss. It satisfies hunger pangs, burns calories and prevents fluid retention.

During the ancient Olympics, athletes were advised to drink large amounts of water to correct fluid loss from sweat and thus prevent cramps. Drinking water cures chronic diseases; it alleviates muscular pain, heartburn, joint pains, skin allergies, and indigestion. Apart from flushing out the system, it helps to increase energy levels and prevent heart attacks, strokes and cancer. Studies prove that drinking sufficient water alleviates constipation within a day, diabetes within a week and hypert.

Seven Myths about our Brain ....

1. We use only 10% of our brain

That is untrue. PET scans of the brain show that much of the brain is active. From an evolutionary point of view it does not make sense for the brain to develop 90% of useless brain either. It is established and proven that we use 100% of our brain, but not all of it at the same time, we use different parts for different reasons but overall the whole brain is used. Therefore do not be tricked by those adverts offering to tap into your unused brain power as you probably don’t have such a thing as unused brain.

2. When brain cells die they cannot be repaired.

Recent research has identified techniques for “growing” new brain cells when old ones are damaged

3. Our brain is like a computer.

That is untrue, first of all computers are digital while our brain is analogues, as the phone or telegraph, second our brain is much more complex then a computer, until molecular computers (and there are hopes) or some other device of that sort are developed comparing our brain to a computer is an oversimplification and an insult to the beautiful machine nature has given us.

4. The blanket-slate myth

This is the myth that the brain is like a clean blanket ready to be furnished. This is untrue also as genetics has a role to play in the formation and operation of our brain, nonetheless the environment has a great role to play also, genetics and environment perform and intertwined dance in the development and growth of our brain.

5. The brain matures by the age of 5

Much of the brain growth and reorganisation occurs between the ages of 5 to 20 but the brain has the capacity to grow throughout life.

6. The sponge myth

The sponge myth suggests that the brain can absorb so much information, when it’s full it’s full and the brain learn just by exposure to the world, therefore it is passive in its learning.
Both of the suggestions are untrue, it appears that the brains capacity to learn seems almost limitless, what limits it are only the priorities and motivations of the learner. Learning is a very active process which requires doing something on the part of the learner which might be just imagining something. The brain is its own teacher.

7. The mediation myth

Some believe that the brain learns better when relaxed which is why some buy a tape recorder and play it during sleep. Psychological experiments have shown that this is untrue, further the brain learns best in a state of arousal as you are focused.

Artificial brain ten years away from reality

LONDON: Scientists are claiming that a functional, artificial brain is only a decade away. This prediction correlates with the above chart, according to which our current computing capabilities limit us to simulated lizard brains.

Using an BM Blue Gene machine with 10,000 processors, the folks at the Blue Brain Project are creating simulations to figure out exactly how our brains work. So far they’ve got a “model of ‘tens of thousands’ of neurons” and lofty goals:

Ultimately, the aim would be to extract that representation and project it so that researchers could see directly how a brain perceives the world.

But as well as advancing neuroscience and philosophy, the Blue Brain project has other practical applications.

For example, by pooling all the world’s neuroscience data on animals - to create a “Noah’s Ark”, researchers may be able to build animal models.

“We cannot keep on doing animal experiments forever,” said Professor Markram.

It may also give researchers new insights into diseases of the brain.

“There are two billion people on the planet affected by mental disorder,” he told the audience.

The project may give insights into new treatments, he said.

IT IS A FACT THAT DR. JEFFREY TAUBENBERGER REVERSE ENGINEERED THE 1918 VIRUS

"It is a fact that Dr. Jeffrey Taubenberger began working in the mid-90’s on reverse engineering the deadly 1918 virus that killed untold millions of people. It is a fact that he assembled his “team” at the U.S. Army Institute of Pathology in 1996 and officially began work on the “project” in 1997. It is a fact that in 1997, Taubenberger published a paper in the journal “Science” identifying that the 1918 killer virus was a “triple reassortant novel” virus containing genetic segments of Human, Swine, and Avian origin. Taubenberger completes his “project” in 2003, then begins working for the NIH in the area of Vaccine development. In 2005, a Wisconsin boy is diagnosed with the same triple virus now declared a pandemic by the WHO in 2009, SHORTLY AFTER RECEIVING A FLU SHOT. "

"The name of the project that developed AIDS is MKNAOMI. The African continent was infected via smallpox vaccine in 1977. The U.S. population was infected in 1978 with he hepatitis B vaccine through the Centers for Disease Control and the New York Blood Center. You now have the entire story. The order was given by the POLICY COMMITTEE of THE BILDERBERG GROUP based in Switzerland. Other measures were also ordered. The one you will be able to check the easiest is the Haig - Kissinger Depopulation Policy which is administered by the State Department".
