e in the world. The pomegranat
e was grown in Aiguo village, Huili county, Sichuan province,
China
, and was verified at the Pomegranat
e Competitio
n organised by the People's Government
of Huili County on 4 September 2009.
Huili county is famous for its pomegranat
e in China. And at the Pomegranat
e Competitio
n of the county on 4 September 2009, about 30 pomegranat
e were chosen to compete for the “King, Queen, Prince and Princess” of pomegranat
e. And finally four pomegranat
es won the prize, with the “Pomegranat
e King” broke the previous record of 1.04 kg. The record winning pomegranat
e was 48.7 cm in circumfere
nce. It is almost three times as much as a normal sized pomegranat
e.
